SENIOR DATA ENGINEER

Development Full-Time

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join our Engineering team, who will be responsible for designing, building, maintaining, and scaling our Data Platform. As a Senior Engineer, you will have an exceptional impact, delivering high-quality work. We expect you to learn quickly, solve complex problems, and take full ownership of issues, from identification to resolution. You enjoy collaboration across teams, driving initiatives, and contributing to achieving key business goals. Your strong technical expertise and passion for Data will help you to succeed in this role.


Our data platform delivers real-time insights into client-side behaviors to detect malicious activity. It processes millions to billions of data entries from web applications, identifying cybersecurity threats and PII (Personally Identifiable Information) compromises.


We are investing in expanding the platform’s capabilities, aiming to offer real-time data analysis and support new use cases. Our customers rely on our products to digest large volumes of data into easy-to-read, actionable dashboards that highlight potential attacks and security risks

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design and develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models to fulfill business strategies and processes;

  • Ensure data models are aligned with business needs and processes;

  • Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and data analysts to translate business requirements into data-driven solutions;

  • Ensure automated and frictionless data flow between different systems and platforms;

  • Develop and implement policies and standards for effective data governance;

  • Ensure data quality, consistency, and compliance with regulatory standards;

  • Promote the adoption of cutting-edge technologies and best practices in the organization’s data architecture;

  • Identify and assess new tools, platforms, and frameworks to enhance data architecture and management.


EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.

  • 4+ years of experience in data architecture, modeling, database design, and data management;

  • Strong proficiency in Python, SQL, and data governance principles;

  • Hands-on experience with technologies like Airflow, Clickhouse, MongoDB, Kafka and Grafana;

  • Experience in building ETL/ELT pipelines from scratch;

  • Experience with event-driven architectures;

  • Proven ability to design and implement large-scale data architectures;

  • Capability to drive innovation in data architecture and explore new technologies and methodologies;

  • Knowledge of JavaScript is valued;

  • Knowledge of Security/Application Security is valued;

  • Fluency in English is mandatory.

TALENT ACQUISITION SPECIALIST

THE ROLE


As our Talent Acquisition Specialist, you will play a key role in shaping the growth of Jscrambler by owning and driving recruitment initiatives across the organization. You will attract, engage, and hire talent at both national and international levels, supporting teams that are building innovative solutions in a fast-paced, high-impact environment.


You won’t just fill positions, you’ll design and deliver meaningful candidate experiences, ensuring every interaction reflects our culture and values. Acting as a trusted partner to hiring managers, you will translate business needs into effective hiring strategies, anticipate future talent requirements, and help bring the right people on board at the right time, while continuously improving recruitment processes and outcomes.


WHAT WILL YOUR DAY-TO-DAY BE LIKE?

  • Own the end-to-end recruitment process, from job posting and sourcing to screening, interviewing, and onboarding, using LinkedIn Recruiter and other sourcing tools to identify and engage top talent.

  • Manage national and/or international recruitment processes, hiring across different locations and seniority profiles.

  • Partner closely with hiring managers to understand team needs and design effective, scalable recruitment strategies.

  • Support key people processes beyond hiring, including offboarding, career path frameworks, and performance review cycles, in collaboration with the HR team.

  • Coordinate and manage the onboarding process, ensuring a smooth transition and a positive experience for new hires.

  • Act as the main point of contact for candidates throughout the recruitment journey, guiding them with clarity, transparency, and empathy.

  • Promote Jscrambler as an employer of choice through social media, career pages, and recruitment events.

  • Help design and execute recruitment campaigns and talent engagement initiatives.

  • Continuously improve the candidate journey by gathering feedback and translating insights into process enhancements.

  • Monitor and report on recruitment metrics, optimizing processes for efficiency and quality of hire.

  • Support broader HR initiatives and projects as needed, contributing to a positive and collaborative workplace culture.


EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2-5 years of experience in talent acquisition, recruitment, or a similar HR role.

  • Strong hands-on experience with LinkedIn Recruiter – sourcing, messaging, and building talent pools.

  • Passion for people and talent, with a knack for spotting potential.

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills – approachable, empathetic, and clear.

  • Experience with ATS/HRIS systems (HiBob is a plus).

  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive.

  • Comfortable navigating fast-paced environments with energy and flexibility.

  • Willingness and availability to attend our Porto office whenever needed to support HR activities.

  • Fluent English (C1 level, written and spoken), comfortable communicating with candidates and stakeholders in an international environment.

HR OPERATIONS SPECIALIST

Human Resources Full-Time

THE ROLE

As an HR Operations, you will be at the heart of our HR function, ensuring that day-to-day HR processes run smoothly and efficiently. You will support our teams in Portugal and other Geos throughout their lifecycle, manage HR operations, and serve as the primary point of contact for all HR-related internal inquiries and external partners.


This is a hands-on, operational role where your attention to detail, organization, and proactive approach will make a real impact on the team experience. We’re looking for someone who is structured yet flexible, precise yet approachable, and ready to contribute to a positive and collaborative workplace culture.


WHAT WILL YOUR DAY-TO-DAY BE LIKE?

  • Be the first point of contact for team questions on HR processes, guiding them with clarity and empathy according to company policies;

  • Help the team navigate benefits, leave entitlements, and HR processes, ensuring they feel supported at every step.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date HR records in HiBob, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with data protection regulations.

  • Track and manage leave requests, vacation balances, and absences, ensuring correct records in HiBob (for teams in Portugal and other geos);

  • Support HR and Health & Safety audits to ensure compliance with internal and legal requirements;

  • Manage communication and relationships with external providers such as health insurance companies, Coverflex, office cleaning, EoR/Outsourcing providers, among others;

  • Coordinate internal events and manage office perks at our Porto office, ensuring smooth organisation and a positive employee experience;

  • Collaborate with the finance team to ensure accurate billing and timely payment to employees for Expense Reimbursement.

  • Identify opportunities to streamline HR processes, enhance efficiency, and improve the employee experience.

  • Support the HR Manager with special projects, policy updates, internal communications, or employee engagement initiatives.


EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2- 5 years of experience in HR Operations, HR Assistant, or similar administrative HR role;

  • Hands-on experience with HiBob (HRIS);

  • Solid understanding of HR processes and labour law basics;

  • Experience supporting employees and managers across different levels and departments;

  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask;

  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality;

  • Proficiency in MS Office / Google tools;

  • Willingness and availability to attend our Porto office whenever needed to support HR operations and office activities;

  • Good English communication skills (minimum B2).

DEVOPS ENGINEER

Development Full-Time

THE ROLE

As a DevOps Engineer, you will contribute to maintaining and optimizing our scalable, secure, and automated infrastructure across cloud and hybrid environments, including bare metal platforms. You will play a key role in building highly reliable systems, enabling fast and safe software delivery through advanced CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation, while ensuring cost efficiency, security, and operational excellence.


You’ll also work with containerized environments, support security and compliance best practices across the DevOps lifecycle, and implement robust monitoring and alerting systems. Your responsibilities will include responding to incidents, improving performance, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and staying at the forefront of emerging technologies.


This is a collaborative role where your technical expertise will be key to drive the adoption of modern DevOps tools. You will actively contribute to the execution of the DevOps roadmap, ensuring our infrastructure evolves to meet the needs of our product.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design, implement, and maintain scalable, secure, and automated infrastructure across local, hosted, cloud, and bare metal environments using Infrastructure as Code (IaC).

  • Assist in the provisioning, operation, and troubleshooting of bare metal servers, including hardware diagnostics, OS-level debugging, performance tuning, and incident resolution in production environments.

  • Maintain and optimize CI/CD pipelines to ensure efficient, reliable, and repeatable software delivery processes.

  • Manage and support containerized application environments using Docker and Kubernetes, adhering to best practices for orchestration, deployment, and lifecycle management.

  • Deploy, configure, and maintain high-throughput streaming architectures, ensuring their stability and performance.

  • Execute security and compliance across the DevOps lifecycle, including secure pipeline configurations, secrets management, and infrastructure hardening.

  • Implement and maintain robust monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to ensure system reliability, performance, and rapid incident response.

  • Actively contribute to project planning and sprint execution, ensuring alignment between infrastructure goals and broader product delivery timelines.

  • Stay up to date with emerging DevOps tools and practices, and promote their adoption across the team to maintain technical excellence and operational efficiency.


EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Infrastructure as Code & Provisioning: Proficiency in tools like Ansible and Terraform for automated server and service provisioning.

  • Bare Metal Infrastructure: Experience with bare metal environments, including server provisioning, hardware troubleshooting, OS-level debugging and network diagnostics.

  • Containerization & Orchestration: Proficiency with Linux containers (e.g., Docker) and container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes (our core orchestration layer).

  • Networking & Security: Strong understanding of network and firewall management (e.g., iptables), as well as WAFs (preferably Cloudflare WAF) and Zero Trust access solutions (e.g., Teleport Cloud).

  • CI/CD & GitOps: Solid experience with CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitLab CI and ArgoCD for GitOps workflows.

  • Monitoring & Logging: Hands-on experience with the Elastic Stack (ELK), FluentBit, and Wazuh for log collection, correlation, and threat detection.

  • Observability: Solid knowledge of the Prometheus ecosystem for metrics collection and alerting.

  • Databases: Experience with managing and monitoring clustered database setups, including: MongoDB clusters; ClickHouse clusters; PostgreSQL clusters.

  • Operating Systems & Scripting: Strong experience with Linux systems administration and shell scripting (Bash), experience with Python is considered a plus.

  • A Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or related field.

  • 3–5 years of professional experience in a DevOps, SRE, or Systems Engineering role.
